In 2016, I experienced the debilitating effects of plantar fasciitis. As a retired Marine, I sought treatment at military hospitals, trying various conventional methods like rest, painkillers, and physical aids. Despite my efforts, nothing seemed to alleviate the pain. Frustrated by the limitations of Western medicine, I decided to explore alternative options. Every morning, I would go through a painstaking routine, slowly testing my foot’s tolerance to bear weight. The excruciating pain persisted, until someone suggested I try hijamah, also known as cupping therapy.

Initially skeptical, as I associated cupping with ancient practices, I decided to give it a chance since other treatments had failed. That night, after undergoing hijamah on my foot, I noticed a slight improvement. The following morning, to my astonishment, I experienced a pain-free start to the day. Step by step, I tested my foot’s resilience, and the pain remained absent. Overjoyed and amazed, I embarked on a journey to learn more about this ancient therapy.

Inspired by my personal success, I enrolled in a beginners course in hijamah therapy in 2018. After obtaining certification, I began offering cupping treatments to friends and family, witnessing the positive impact it had on their health. Motivated by the transformative results, I continued my studies in hijamah therapy and successfully completed the Higher Diploma in Hijamah Therapy certification with distinction. These achievements propelled me to establish Authentic Cupping Llc in 2020, where I now serve clients in my Columbia clinic and offer convenient home visits. Interacting with individuals and witnessing their improved well-being has become immensely fulfilling, making the practice of cupping therapy a true passion for me.
