FAQ (Frequently Asked Question)
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTION
Not really. With Moving Cupping the sensation is similar to a deep tissue massage. When Wet Cupping is done, the person will feel a slight scratch.
A session usually lasts an hour.
Moving Cupping and a deep tissue massage produce similar effects. The difference between the two is that a deep tissue massage uses positive pressure, whereas Moving Cupping uses negative pressure. When you add Wet Cupping to the treatment, the stagnant blood is removed from the body and this helps the body to recover quicker. A deep tissue massage does not remove stagnant blood.
You can do Cupping anytime. The best days of the week are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The best days of the month are the 17th, 19th and the 21st. Abu Hurairah (r.a) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: “Whoever gets treated with Cupping on the 17th, 19th and the 21st will be cured from every illness.” (Sunan Abi Dawood, 3861).
Young children and pregnant women should not do Cupping. Cupping should not be done on broken skin, wounds, lesions or overly sensitive skin. Patients with anemia should not do Cupping until their hemoglobin levels are under control.
